Remittance Service Update - November 2021

We want to provide an update regarding our remittance services.

  • Payment by Interact Debit Card in-store is the only official method of payment.
  • eTransfer and cash are not official methods of payment. We've supported these methods of payment to trusted customers due to the increased family support needs during COVID. We all need to work together, after all.

We were also providing receipts to customers immediately, prior to receiving payment, but this has recently become a challenge keeping track of payments and receipts, especially when payments come several hours or days later.

Going forward, eTransfer will still be supported, but a receipt will only be issued after we've verified a debit card payment in the store. This means that the transaction may be delayed, especially if the store is closed at the time of the transation. Late-night transactions will be delayed to the next morning.

For quickest processing, please come into the store for all remittance services, and pay with a debit card. Cash is not officially supported, and will only be accepted in very rare, emergency cases. Depositing your cash to your bank account is the best way to pay a remittance.
